It is recommended that gutters, downpipes, and drain columns are maintained at least once a year. In the absence of regular maintenance, pipe blockages could cause expensive inconveniences, as a blockage leads to water overflowing, leading to seepage and a high humidity environment that is fertile for mould growth, causing environmental damage as well as structural damage.
The double/half rope safety technique enables our operators and technicians to carry out maintenance interventions quickly and resolve blockage problems using both classic and cutting-edge methods.
19.1. Drain columns, Gutter and downpipe maintenance services:
19.1.1. Preliminary inspection:
Analyse the problem area to determine its origin.
19.1.2. Possible Actions:
Ensure that the gutter net or gasket is replaced;
If the leak occurs at the gutter end, install a new head;
Remove the suspended substances that caused the blockage and interrupted water flow;
Ensure the drain hole is clean by removing the blockage-causing debris;
Replace loose screws, support brackets, and/or collars;
In the event of cracked, holed, or broken drain system pipes, partially or fully replace them.
19.1.3. Test:
A thorough inspection and testing of the cleaned pipes, fittings, and connections is conducted.
In Edil Technology, we advise our clients to avoid performing do-it-yourself pipe cleanings due to the high risk of using ladders to reach high altitudes and using unfamiliar tools.
